WhatsApp channel settings
Everything you can see and configure on a connected WhatsApp channel: profile, agent, quality, limits and more.
Open a WhatsApp channel from the Channels list to manage it. This page describes every section of a connected (Online) channel; if the channel is not connected yet, a banner at the top guides you to finish the onboarding.
Basic info
Section titled “Basic info”| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Number | The public phone number of the WhatsApp account. |
| Status | The channel status — see status definitions. |
| WhatsApp display name | The name customers see in the chat, as registered with Meta. A green OBA badge means the account is an Official Business Account (green tick). |
| Messaging limit | How many business-initiated conversations Meta allows in 24 hours — see below. |
| Channel quality | Meta’s quality score for the channel — see below. |
| WABA account name | The name of your WhatsApp Business account, with its Meta approval state. |
| Meta Business Manager ID | The Meta business the account belongs to, with a check when the business is verified. |
| Assigned bot | The agent that processes incoming messages on this channel. |
| Custom response message | An automatic reply for channels without an assigned agent — see below. |
Next to these fields, a phone emulator previews how your profile looks to a customer opening the chat.
Editing the WhatsApp profile
Section titled “Editing the WhatsApp profile”Click Edit profile to change what customers see when they open your business profile in WhatsApp:
- Profile photo — your logo or venue picture.
- About — a short line (up to 139 characters).
- Description — up to 512 characters.
- Address, Email, Website
- Industry — the business category shown by WhatsApp.
Changes are published directly to WhatsApp when you save.
Messaging limit and channel quality
Section titled “Messaging limit and channel quality”Meta controls how many business-initiated conversations (notifications, reminders, campaigns) an account may open in a rolling 24-hour window. New accounts start at 250 users/24 h and can grow to 1,000 → 2,000 → 10,000 → 100,000 → unlimited. The limit rises automatically as you message more people with good quality — and verifying your business with Meta unlocks growth beyond the initial tier (see Requirements).
Channel quality (High / Medium / Low) is Meta’s score based on how recipients react to your messages — blocks and reports lower it. A sustained low quality can freeze or reduce your messaging limit, so keep campaigns relevant and targeted.
Replies to conversations started by the customer do not count against the limit.
Sharing your WhatsApp number
Section titled “Sharing your WhatsApp number”The Publish menu helps customers find the channel:
- WhatsApp QR code — generates (and downloads) a QR that opens a chat with your number. Print it on tables, menus or flyers.
- Google My Business — connect your Google Business Profile so the WhatsApp channel appears as a chat option on your Google listing.
Channels used only for notifications
Section titled “Channels used only for notifications”A WhatsApp channel can work without an assigned agent: it still sends your reservation confirmations, reminders and campaigns, but nobody chats back. For that case, configure the custom response message — the automatic reply sent when a customer writes to the channel. It can be set per language; the default explains that the channel is used for notifications only and points the customer to the venue’s phone or website.
When an agent is assigned, the agent answers instead and the custom response message is not used.
If the channel goes offline
Section titled “If the channel goes offline”An Offline channel can no longer send or receive messages — most often the authorization with 360dialog was revoked or expired. Open the channel and click Reconnect with 360 Dialog to restore it; if it doesn’t recover, contact support.
